Abortion Access Project - Organizing nursing students and nurses, PA 's, nurse practitioners, and medical students for Choice to increase access to abortion and to increase training in abortion-related care. Based in Massachusetts.

 

Alliance for the Improvement of Maternity Services (AIMS) - The primary goal of this organization is to bring about a reduction of birth injury and trauma in newborns and their mothers through the sharing of scientific information and public information.

 

The Canadian Women's Health Network - Network of women working to improve women’s health and health services; contains Internet resources and a bi-monthly magazine.

 

Catholics for Choice - CFFC is an independent, non-profit organization engaged in policy analysis, education, and advocacy on issues of gender equality and reproductive health.

 

Center for Medical Consumers - A non-profit advocacy organization active in both statewide and national efforts to improve the quality of health care.  The organization is committed to broadening the public's awareness about the quality problems that pervade the American health care system.

Consumers Union -  CU's mission is to test products, inform the public and protect consumers. CU provides a comprehensive source of unbiased advice about products and services, personal finance, health and nutrition, and other consumer concerns.

 

DES Action - National, non-profit consumer organization dedicated to informing the public about DES (diethylstilbestrol) and helping DES-exposed individuals. We publish a quarterly newsletter, The DES Action Voice, and many publications on various aspects of DES exposure. We also provide a link between DES-exposed people and researchers and the medical community.

 

Health Action International (HAI)  - A non-profit, global network of health, development, consumer and other public interest groups in more than 70 countries working for a more rational use of medicinal drugs, HAI represents the interest of consumers in drug policy and believes that all drugs marketed should be safe, effective, affordable and meet real medical needs.  HAI also campaigns for better controls on drug promotion and the provision of balanced, independent information for prescribers and consumers.

 

HERS Foundation - The HERS Foundation is an independent non-profit national international women's health education organization. It provides full, accurate information about hysterectomy, its adverse effects and alternative treatments.

 

Institute for Women's Policy Research - An organization dedicated to informing and stimulating the debate on public policy issues of critical importance to women and their families.

 

International Women's Health Coalition - IWHC works to generate health and population policies, programs, and finding that promote and protect the rights and health of girls and women worldwide, particularly in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and countries in post-socialist transition

 

MADRE - Since 1983, MADRE has worked in partnership with community-based women's organizations in conflict areas worldwide to address issues of health, education, economic development and other human rights. MADRE provides resources and training for our sister organizations and works to empower people in the US to demand changes to unjust policies.
